Privacy Policy
PurePDF is built so that, for standard tools, there is nothing to disclose about your files — they never reach a server. This page explains exactly what does and doesn't happen with your data, tool by tool.

Standard PDF tools: nothing is collected
Merge, split, compress, rotate, organize, watermark, sign, redact, encrypt, and every other tool marked "100% Private" run entirely inside your browser. Your file is read into memory on your device, processed there with WebAssembly and JavaScript, and the result is handed back to you — none of it is ever sent over the network. You could disconnect from the internet after the page loads and these tools would still work.
Server-assisted tools: what actually happens
A small number of tools (document format conversions like PDF to Word) genuinely need a server, because no browser-only library can do that conversion reliably. Those tools say so clearly, before you upload anything. When you use one, your file is sent for processing and used only to generate your result — it is never stored, logged, or kept beyond that single request. A rate limit tied to a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (never your raw IP) prevents abuse of these tools; that hash is not linked to any file content.
Analytics: what we track
PurePDF uses Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to understand which tools are used and how often — page views, and anonymous events like "a conversion succeeded" or "a file was downloaded," tagged only with the tool's name. These events never include your file's name, content, or any information extracted from it. You can use a browser's tracking-protection or ad-blocking extension to opt out of this without any tool breaking.
Star ratings
If you rate a tool, we store the tool name, your rating (1–5), and a salted, one-way hash of your IP address — used only to stop the same visitor from rating a tool more than once. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be reversed to recover it.
Cookies and local storage
PurePDF sets one cookie (to remember your chosen language) and uses your browser's local storage for things like your theme preference, saved workflow presets, and whether you've already rated a tool — all of this stays on your device and is never sent to us. There is no cross-site tracking and no advertising cookie.
Third-party services we use
PurePDF runs on Vercel (hosting and analytics) and, for server-assisted tools, Supabase (rate-limiting and star ratings) and Google Analytics. Each of these has its own privacy practices, which you can review on their own sites — Vercel's and Google's privacy policies cover what they collect on their platforms, independently of what's described here.
Children's privacy
PurePDF does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age — it has no accounts and never asks anyone for personal information.
Changes to this policy
If PurePDF's data practices change, this page will be updated and the date above will change. Since standard tools never send your files anywhere, that core promise isn't expected to change.
